I remember Dale stopped next to us at some traffic lights near Glendale, Newcastle. We had our MX bikes on the trailer, he was in his, Trans Am? (Vett?).
Wound down his window "going racing boys". "Yes". "Have fun". "Thanks".
(I'd seen him do one of his early jumps a few years before at Newcastle show ground.)

From memory, it wasn't that much longer before he was gone.

Yep, young bloke under too much pressure. We saw him at his family property out the back of wyong at jiliby practising about 34 years ago..
I have a soft spot japanese mxers with aluminium tanks. Two stroke classic Dirt Track...

he made a big impression on me when i was 14, those standing on the seat with one foot mono's. i practiced for years till i learnt
how to do it. many flips later at 17 years old i mastered it.

I seem to remember reading somewhere he did the add for the ?xl250 in the office maybe late 70s.

It wasn't him Brett. It was a trials rider by the name of Howard Chapman. His wife/girlfriend had something to do with Bennett Honda at the time. Great ad though.
