Advice for 125cc pre 75/78 build
« on: February 21, 2016, 01:37:02 pm »
Hi guys,

I want start racing flat track, so i'm thinking putting something together to race in the pre 75/78 125cc class.

Any advice on a desirable bike to be looking out for, or what i should be avoiding would be great. I'm new to the scene and don't have a great deal of knowledge in this era of bikes.

This is what i have in mind...

The listing said it was a 1974 mx175 with yz125 tank

looks ok for pre75,but you'd better be a lightweight JR,coz a 175's in with the 2fiddies  :D,(& if you are a skinnyarse,drop a 125 barrell back onit  ;)), :P
work, the curse of the racing class!!
if a hammer dosn't fix it,you have a electrical problem!!

I live in Melbourne so i'm planning to ride at Broadford, not sure on which MA club to join yet. Any suggestions?
I was in the Motorcycle Sportsmen of Qld club, but that was a few years ago before i moved down.

I've also read that Ride Park at Parwan has a flat track. Has anyone ridden there?

J.R. If you come to the Bonanza at Easter see us in the pits. Bikes #29 and #26 .
If you want to ride dirt-track you should come and have a look. It is going to be huge on the Sat.
