tapered bearings for dt modles???

hey guys ive just got into old dirt bikes and bought a couple of old dts...i have been rebuilding older 2 stroke road bikes for yrs rd/rz/tzr and always up grade to taper head stock bearings where possible..is it posible with the dt175 i have a 79 and a 81 modle thanks..i found some for a it175 would these fit?

Yeah, MSC or Link do 'em. They're the same for all of the old Yammies that came with loose ball bearings.
Fairly dear at ~$75 for a set, though.
ITs would have come with tapered roller bearings from the factory, so they're a much larger OD (same ID, FWIW).

The Link/MCS part appears to be a mix-and-match set (ie: The inner and the outer started life as two different bearings), which would explain the price.

I've got the measurments written down, just gotta remember to take them into the bearing shop next time I there. They definitely looked at me dumb when I quoted the numbers stamped into the bearings...

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
