Hi, I know it's cold comfort but I engaged a "Importer" to bring over a PE400 engine in 2014 and still haven't seen it - I've written it off but still have the odd moment of thinking what I would like to do to him and his poofy dog.

Bought some cheap handgrips out of China via Ebay in July.
They never turned up and the Chinese seller refunded me the money.
Bugger me if they don't turn up last week with the correct postal date on the parcel.
Don't know where they went.

Got onto the seller and tried to pay again but he said he had already refunded me. :o
Oh well I tried.

And the moral of this story is " never give up ". ;)

Had a similar situation, wish  I had used paypal, no one wanted to help at all, USPS ,Aus Post or Supplier, even though I opted for insurance.
I got nothing but stung, would not have been so bad were they not NOS barrell and head made of unobatinium.
Cheers
Kim

Was it via ebay global shipping? There's normally a buyer protection/guaranteed delivery with that. Big item will usually be transferred to come via Fed Ex economy which takes weeks  as well and just when you think it might be lost it turns up. Often ebay will give you a courtesy refund out of their pockets rather than pull the money back from the seller because their policy supposedly guarantees delivery. So just open a ebay case or paypal case and go through the process and it should work out for you unless it was paid for direct through ebay as a 'gift', only then will you probably not get your money back.

it was from a seller on here, so want to let him sort it his end first, just getting the jitters and checking out options, not wanting to go off half cocked
so looks like I should open a paypal case then hey?

Did you get any tracking info about the engine? You'd think with the scanning these days it could be located.
I did wait months for a set of forks out of the US because Australian customs decided to take them apart. Must have thought they looked like rocket launchers

Yeah just open a PP case to get it 'in the system' before the 45 day or what ever amount? limit is up. That gets you working on a solution with the seller with paypal overseeing it. Then if things can not be resolved you can then escalate it to a 'paypal claim' after.

I think I should explain myself it looks like I am the fool, as it turns out Im finding it harder to claim because it was not for goods or services because I was asked by the supplier (no name yet) to pay as a friend (we had no idea this changes every thing) we can still make a dispute and with our bank that paid out to paypal
it is suspiciuos the item ended up at Dubia and no return information from the seller at this time

so dumb arse here is saying all this as a warning to everyone, I will make profuse apologies if I am wrong,
it all looked above board, so I will let you know the out come to ensure your protection as I thought I was

don't have the details close at hand but I do know 2 prominent people in the VMX community have made comments on FB recently re lack of protection when asked to send something as a gift or to a friend through paypal - apparently protections and significantly less then.
