OK, it has been a little while since posting in here as I have had a lot going on. After Harrow I turned my attention back to my other project dirt bikes which have been piling up for quite some time. Plus a few others not pictured here
But for various different reasons they haven't been working out how I wanted so I decided to turn my attention to the wife's little 81' SR250 cruiser that has been sitting idle since I purchased it about a year and a half ago. I was told when I got it that it had been rebuilt and then sat for 10 years but after buying it I found it was very low on compression so I parked it in the corner of the shed until I had time to look at it. So last Sunday I went in search of the missing compression and ended up stripping it to a bare frame.
And as for the compression, It has been re bored, has fresh hone marks in the cylinder and a new looking genuine piston but there seems to be a slight problem with the rings
One interesting thing about these little bikes is they are basically the 2 valve XT250 motor with electric start so parts are pretty easy to find and they are quite good to work on so hopefully I should have it up and running pretty soon and in the meantime I have started on polishing and painting all the other bits and pieces.
