Dream Five
« on: January 14, 2016, 08:21:53 am »
Lotto in the U.S. is $1.4 billion, so after I bought my ticket I started thinking about the many ways to spend it.  When I finally got around to Old Bikes I wondered what 5 bikes would I buy first, if I could buy any of them I wanted.  Here is my Dream Five:

1. Roger DeCoster's 1976 RN370 (400?)
2. David Bailey's 1985 RC500
3. Johnny Omara's 1979 Mugen ME125 (air-cooled)
4. Brad Lackey's 1982 RN500
5. Darrell Schultz's 1982 RC480 (500?)

All factory bikes, go figure. :-)  The only privateer bikes I would have considered are Rex Staten's 1975 USGP hole-shotting CZ400 and Marty Moates' 1980 USGP winning LOP YZ465.  I have not won yet and I am already an MX bike snob. LOL

It's disgusting, but that's why they call it Filthy Rich.  It's 299 million to 1 odds, so I will probably still make it to heaven. :-)

I am with you on great cars, but I said when I get around to Old Bikes. LOL

Here is the order:

2. Super Models of each hair color
3. Charitable trust funds (Still got to try to get into heaven.)

I read that you're 25 times more likely to become the President of The United States than winning that Lotto. Introducing Mr President, Tahitian Red.

"You have as much chance of winning PowerBall as you have of being struck by lightning while being eaten by a shark". Jon Oliver.

But with $1.4B, surely you'd just go to Terry Goode's place and say "here's the cheque, pack your clothes"?

Personally:

Hallman's 1972 YZ250.
Hannah's OW27.
Any YZM500.
Leisk's 89 RC500.
Puzar's 92 YZM250.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

You are all thinking too small.

1.  Buy a golf course and turn it into a Vintage MX resort. If that is great buy more.
2.  Buy the Mercedes F1 team and sack Hamilton
3.  Buy Dave Coupe's VMX collection.
4.  Buy a B double semi to transport my bikes to race meetings
5.  Get the rights to the Maico name Worldwide and investigate relaunching similar Husky.

Why think small.

Just buy Greece. You'd probably get change.  Yep with the $1.3999999 billion and 50cents change I would buy the "Rich River Flog/Golf course thingo just up the road and open it up for like minded VMXers .  Nice big bars and restaurants right in the middle to watch the fun to.
Cannot think of any particular whole bikes I would buy as, well I used to enjoy building my own shitty specials the most.
Cars? Just a new Australian Ford Falcon 1 tonne cab chassis tray for work and a new Holden V8 ute for play as the real Australian built cars are about to sadly die out. :'(

and build a world class speedway track to revitalise sidecar and solo speedway, modern and classics  ;)

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I could always buy the two Islands to the south of Australia. No one lives there they're all in Australia.
