I don't open any email that gets sent to my spam folder. Lately I've noticed heaps of emails from someone claiming to be Paypal telling me my account has been suspended.....
Even just reading these emails could lead to malware or similar being installed on your pc. Be careful folks.
Arrogance.....A way of life for the those that having nothing further to learn.

Yep, had quite a few lately. Most are easy to spot but they are getting better at making them look legit.

I have had a lot of emails which are what I call the "Nigerian Scam", it goes a bit like this: "Hello, I am an oceanographer stationed at sea, or a Minister of a Church, and would like to buy your (insert product for sale) and also pay the shipping, if you could just reimburse my shipping agent with a Western Union payment of (inset dollar amount, usually around $900-1000), as I am unable to make payment to him directly" and that is the last you will see of your money.

The payment will show in your Paypal account as a "pending payment" and the moment they have your $900-1000, the payment is withdrawn.

I have never been caught, but know of a couple of people who have. If they manage to scam only one person per week, that allows them to live like a king in Nigeria!

Tony.

At this point, if you are taken isn't it kind of your own fault?

Yeah, Dear "first half of email address". Dear "customer". Etc are all give aways.

That said, I've seen some pretty slick attempts, with lots of genuine looking graphics (Pay pal, eBay, for eg.)

Sometimes they even have a legit sounding email address like "....accountPayPal.com" or disguise the address to look legit.

Run good antivirus (NOD 32, seems bullet proof) and use your brain and healthy sceptacisim.
There is a reason for the similarity between scam, and scum. To many scum being allowed to live/breed.

Haha, nice one!

My humblest apologies King Oba, would you please leave my head on my shoulders and grant me a royal pardon?

I know this is a scam, especially as I am not on Facebook
But with a name like Vasilina I can't help but want to check her out:o

Hello new friend!

I wish I could write your real name but you never told me that, so, I have to use your profile name on facebook.

I send you my picture as you asked. Could you write me your name? Will you send me your picture? A descent one! In what city or town do you live?

I hope to hear from you soon. I will have my vacation in 3 weeks if my boss doesn't make to work longer 1-2 weeks. I will be very glad to become friends and meet in real.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Best regards,
Vasilina.

I've won the Spanish lottery two times now.  All I have to do is send my bank account details (and password) and they will transfer the money.

I have become cynical of most emails and some facebook posts now.

Geoff I had the exact same email from Vasilina a couple of weeks ago,  her email address is ( rogergraciewi@------- )
She must be pretty desperate for a friend if she's willing to pull on a couple of old codgers like us.
              Zane
Everyday I find one more name to add to the list of people who piss me off.
