those 3 blue coloured saws are sooo old they come out of the ark!maybe they have vintage chainsaw log cutting competitions for blokes but just cant hang up their saws like we do vmx and our old bikes ;D ;) i remember when i worked at gawler sa at costin mowers in 93 and the old boss came out to the w/shop carrying a 1st gen mac chainsaw much like those blue saws saying just do a service and tune the carb and i remember it being way heavier then a stilh 100cc farm boss and being the loudest saw ive ever heard even with earmuffs on which i never wore to tune carbs :'( ;D

Jimson, I have my dads old Stihl 08s on the bench here and it has carb issues. I have rebuilt the carb with a service kit but I fear that the throttle shaft is worn and there is air sucking in where it should not. Completely untunable, havent got a spare carb for one of these saws have you?

Fantastic little saw the 08s.

Re-bush the carby body by shrink fitting some precision brass bushes into it.
I have done it heaps of times.
If you are I'll equipped? let me know.

Those Solos have some grunt.
Dad used his Solo for ripping sleepers. It was an old saw in the 70s but damn it had some mojo.

Dad use to use Solo Pioneer and Stihl. Macs just kept breaking down and when your tools dont work either do you. Logs dont cut themselves.

They're are a wanted item but finding the wanter could be the issue.

I see three Solo Rex saws, the Solo Rex with the red starter cover could be a 'Super Rex'?....The yellow demo saws, McCulloch PM-1000 ?? Are re-badged Jonsereds / Partner P-100's.

The other yellow saw on the right of the pic is a Canadian, could be a Canadian 270?

The small red saw in the back ground could be a later Jonsereds.

The other older looking saw on the right, with the open rear handle could be a Blue steak?

The Solo Rex saws will date from the late 1950's and are around 125cc, the Super Rex is around 140cc.
