Weather was nice, bike ran like a Swiss watch despite the iffy front brake and the fact that I rode my first lap without even enough air in the tyres to register on the gauge of the pump I borrowed... ;D
The loop was fun, in that it was completely different to anything I have to ride at home. I heard someone describe it as "nice and flowing"; I'm sure it was, for them. To me it was 17km of wrestling my sky blue three-wheeled shopping cart around what is one of the tougher loops I've ridden on whilst trying to avoid using the front brake too much (the front dives like a soccer player when you squeeze the front brake hard enough for it to actually be useful; new shoes are in order) or cooking the rear.
I'd like to qualify that by pointing out that almost all of the riding I've done has been in open paddocks, on car-width firetrails or on a motocross track; there's SFA singletrack where I am, and what is there is pretty open.
I enjoyed it, but I don't ever really get to ride the sort of terrain covered by the loop, so it was tough going for me. I was also crook, so that took a fair bit out of me.
All in all, it was a pretty good weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and I'll be back for the next one for sure.

The best loop yet for canowindra imo, actually it's basically the same loop but aging well.
It definitely kept you busy that's for sure.
Good mix of everything to test the spirit..I noticed alot of trees missing bark .

Imagine this , its this time last week and you're are dreaming about the week-end coming up at Canowindra.
What's the weather going to be like , is it going to be dusty , is it going to muddy , is it going to be Rocky.
You get there late Friday, there's a welcoming raging big fire to keep you warm , but there's no stars in the sky , its a bit damp and its freezing cold , "you think" is it going to rain.

You get set , hop into the swag and off to sleep you go

Then bam you wake in the morning and look out to the horizon and that's what you see.

Up you get , full of anticipation have some breakfast ,on with the riding gear , go to riders briefing and then all of a sudden you're out there on the trail.

As you leave the check point you are pointed up a slight hill and off you go. It all starts with a short flowing trail section and then straight into  some flowing work in the woods and then some  trail time in a brand new section , once through the new section you dropped into the excellent trails on Peters property , again with some work in the woods and fab. trail sections.

As the day progressed the weather got even better "if that is possible" and the trails did the same. There were great little ruts to ride through the corners , the woods sections were just gold and the dust was very minimal. There was a great mixture of sections to keep the riders concentrating for the whole loop.

This is scenario the VTR team strive for and last week-end the stars aligned and that in my opinion was the ideal outcome. Thanks to the Land owners and the VTR team for their dedication , hard work and holding this fabulous event.

Looking forward to the next chapter in the VTR event book.

Hay Thanks for the feed back .The More the Better...

Feed Back is Important to Us  at VTR It Help us to Plane a loop..
Its alway a hard job when marking out a loop and to work out what to put in and what not ..

You Must think of all Riders some it may  be the there  first Vinduro and some maybe a well seasoned Rider .
What also make it hard is the train or the property that you have to work on.

This year from a small Buladealer to Nimmitabel to Yass to Putty   and Canowindra ...
Not one place the same ..

But we have learn some thing and I think we are getting it close what most of  you want ..

And yes we still are learning ...

and I hope you enjoy the Photos as we try to bring the Fun and the ride back to you hear on Ozvmx ...

I reckon that was the best Vinduro course I've ever ridden, for one simple reason: it was FUN.

It was neither ridiculously easy, but it certainly wasn't hard to get around.
The people that set the course didn't get sucked into the idea of making it less fun, for the sake of making it "challenging". Nor did they get sucked into making it boring for the sake of making it "easy".
It flowed, without just being a blast along a fire trail.
It wasn't whooped out/rutted/rocky/gnarly crap.
The weather was very kind.

The first half of the loop was close to riding nirvarna, and the second half was merely great... :)
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.
