Anyone got a pre-70 race bike that I can borrow...

The electronic ignition conversion onto the CT1 has turned to poop.  >:(

Am I eligible to score points if I run around the track?

Well, that was COLD. We didn't quite get snow but it was close, plenty of sleet and even some sort of light hail. But not enough to dampen the track too much, and by lunchtime we had sunshine. The track came up a treat after that, and I think everyone had a good time of it.

But at 9 AM when it was cold, grey and hailing, it didn't look so good at all. I did three laps of practice and couldn't feel my hands or feet!

I also have to publicly declare Nathan the better man. He kicked my butt soundly for 4 out of 4. I think he qualifies as genuinely fast now. I am not sure but I think I saw him right on Noel's tail in the last Classic 125 race... How'd it end up guys?

I also have to publicly declare Nathan the better man.

No, no, no, NO! Its not fun if you concede! :D Seriously, I've gotta say that Matt Haskins' lessons seem to have improved Graeme's speed a whole lot...  A third (and a 5th?) place from a decent sized grid of pre-78 125s was

Had an up-and-down day, but yeah, it was a truck load of fun.

I was running a distant forth to Noel and Jens in the first Classic 125 race, when first Neville's CR died, and then Jens' KX locked solid and took Noel out with him. Well fork me, I'm going to win a race. And I did, although it was somewhat anti-climactic, given the way it happened. Impressively, Noel climbed back to 2nd, despite being a long way behind when he got going again.
The second race was a lot more interesting and even more fun. Basically, it went down to the wire between Noel and I, but he came out in front.
No matter, it was awesome fun. :)
And now my X has been added to the list of bikes to never sell...

The "YZ175D" was also there, but with a 125 top end. It's awesome, despite the 5-speed gear box.
The DT175A racer has a lot of potential, but needs a better gearbox and work on the forks to show anything like its potential.

Anyhow, good day, good people, good fun.
Two thumbs up, will ride again!

My speed may have improved, but I can see that I am still far too slow in tight corners in particular. In fact I think that may be why poor old Neville collected me from behind and tasted dirt as a result. That said, the speed of the ACT guys continues to surprise me. They just keep on improving. I suppose there is some home track advantage at work, but Dennis, Bill and Nathan were all impressively fast yesterday. Simon too is quick but we already knew that. By the same token, everyone out there yesterday was circulating at decent speed. I know when HEAVEN first rolled inot Canberra a few years back there weren't too many guys clearing the tabletops, but these days everyone does. Watching from my flaggie's point I got to see first hand how quick a decent Evo or Pre 85 field is nawadays. Great stuff everyone!

Yeah, gotta agree with that, particularly on the comment about Bill. He might be about as old as his riding number, but he gets along bloody well, particularly on that 250 Evo bike of his!
Don has taken a big step foward too, with a string of second places in the Evo 250 and Evo open races, and leading Peter Lovering for nearly a full lap!

Young Tom's greatly improved too - made it past the first corner every time...  :D

Darran M (I think?) had a big crash over the second of the two back-straight table-tops. I didn't see what went wrong, but I did see a remarkably good impersonation of a sack of potatoes as he landed... Glad to see him back on the bike for his next race.

Any more pics Tom/Jimson/anyone else?

Well Round 6 Was a bit cold with a over night temp of -4.5 and a

The -4.5 did not stop the Bench raceing and the DVD for the
