Just putting it put there I purchased a 1981 trail and track mag featured in it is a Vg track test with a rider no 185 which was raced consistently in victoria . Bike was supplied by Phil Russell motorcycles Warnambool so anyone ca help identify the rider or who owned it would be good as I have 2 Vg one complete and one in need of attention cheers

hi, on the index page of that trail and track issue they list the testers as Norm Lindsay , Mark Tyler , Murray Crawford and Peter Whittington
and at the end of the test, Mark Tyler has put his name to it. cheers g.

Thanks for that very interesting article especially when it was done on a vey wet slippery track and saying the bike turned in to corners very well where other jap bikes the same year rm and yz would have just washed up into the cnr or out all together . The difference there is I think is the motor is further forward in the frame than the previous models and they do say that in write up .So yes the test reading is interesting and curios to who owned the bike no 185 cheers
