Clean it up and you could weld it too.

I've seen a DT400 piston like that repaired by puddle welding/casting to get a traveller going again.

A bloke named Whirly Wilson, who was a  famous fix anything engineer in Ararat, did it for the local Yamaha agent when I worked there as a kid.

Was it a display Geoff or did it get a lap in?

Actually looking for a few rider reports other than "filled the bottom with melted piston pieces"...

Spewing I missed it.

Pretty sure that the Hodaka was on display only. I daresay most people who took part are too exhausted to write anything right now, or are still travelling. I am a superman, but even so am pretty shattered after 2 x 110 km loops, but I'll try and give a quick overview...

Mate, you missed an awesome event. It was tough, no question, but everyone who completed a lap had a look on their face that was a mix of elation, satisfaction, pride and f**k-I'm-tired!

The ride was epic, and the stories even more so. People had all kinds of adventures, trials, failures, successes, crashes, near misses, break downs, trackside repairs, hilarity and disappointment. This was a real experience. I'll say it again - "epic".

How Stephen and Rob and their helpers managed to come up with this extraordinary course is beyond me, but I'm sure I speak for everyone there when I say that we're glad they did.

Just briefly on my own experience; after a very convivial Friday night (campfire-pub-campfire) I did one lap on Saturday. I had a relatively trouble free run, only getting the XT250 briefly bogged once (thanks for the push Rosco), and got back tired and cold but stoked that I'd completed the course. I had a quieter eve on Saturday night, and in the morn one of my team mates arrived on Sunday morn (the other was a DNS) and we both did a lap today. My back brakes had given up the ghost the previous day, and when we both got flat front tyres early on, so it was an interesting day but we made it through.

Epic.

Hi Tex , my Combat was one of the display bikes , along with a KDX 450 , a TL and I think a SWM . I managed to get 3 laps in on the Thunderdog , with a few?  mechanical issues . Big thanks to all the crew who kept the course open till I finally made it home . What a brilliant loop , what an effort to organize an event of that size . VERi thank you for putting together  'Harrow' .

I did pull a KTM out of a bog and pass a broken Husky.....that made me feel better..hahaha

The results are being collated, the numbers crunched, tea leaves mixed with chicken intestines being stirred so the decision can be determined as fairly and accurately as possible. Also, the committee is happy to announce an extension to the cut-off for postal 'donations' from the various factions - in the interest of fairness of course. 8)
WANTED. Canams;all models,complete or parts.SWM stuff too!
