Yep, she was a top weekend alright. The weather gods smiled for a change and gave us a perfect two days of sun, clear skies and mild temps. In fact I even raised a sweat!

Dennis and crew designed a very nice loop of something like 10-15km - a little of everything including some open trails, tight single track with plenty of switchbacks, some great little gully sections which were moist and tacky but not wet, and some nice elevation changes.

It was a perfect mix for me - probably around 25 minutes a lap so, enough time to get a workout but not so long as to wear me out. The IT175 pulled two head studs loose but with a bit of care I was able to keep it running all weekend though by the last lap it did sound a bit second hand. Looks like a top end rebuild is due...

Everywhere I looked I saw smiling faces and happy campers. I don't think there were any major dramas or injuries to speak of. Blokes were happy to stand around and talk, catch up or just watch the proceedings as much as get out on the trail. A real good vibe buzz was apparent through the whole weekend.

I am not that fit and found that one lap was enough, then back to the pits for a spell before knocking off another. The guy pitted next to me though - he headed out on his trusty XR250 and reeled off 6 quick laps in one go!  Respect from me.

The best thing though was just checking it all out. Lazing under a pitshade, cooling down after a fun lap and just watching the whole scene. It looked like 1982 all over again - PEs, ITs, Huskies, KDXs and KTMs, even a Can Am Sonic. And seemed like a LOT of prolink XR Hondas.

The track started out as a couple of short gully sections below the pits, then a fun little squirt across a paddock with nice loamy soil to hook into before a short hill section which led to the best little twisty hillclimb through some tight-ish switchbacks, all the while carving through lovely thick topsoil. And that was pretty much how the next 10km unfolded. How nice is that???

Full marks from me - thanks to everyone who helped organise it all and thanks to everyone who came along, rode and had a ball.

Well people the bobcat is fuelled and ready to go . We are going to add a new long extension to the loop through wat we think will be unreal riding , hope you all make the trip this should be a great ride ......    hey b490 you may even get your 20k loop ...

Don't wont to jinks myself, but I am really hoping to make this one

I was dead keen on Nimmitabel, but had to get a couple of skin cancers removed two days before hand.
One off my ear, but healing well and should be able to wear a helmet by Canowindra time

Note to Dennis and some others,,,hats and sunblock are heaps easier than getting these things off

Well after my year hiatus and such a good time/ride at Nimmitabel I was so looking to this next ride. It is not to be, tore my Plantar Fascia at training wednesday night. Tried to stand on it Thursday morning and experienced a whole new range of uncomfortable sensations(pain). Now walking that was just F**K'N impossible.Now I have a couple of new fashion accessories for the next month or so.

The boots not too bad make walking bearable.
It's like the old Air Nike's put it on and pump it up till it's comfortable

Geez, no good Curly.

One of those pit starters would be good, but inadequate if you stall it while out on the loop.

They made alot of versions in those Yammie donks
Have you thought about kitting it to electric start with some the Yammie road components etc?

Coupled with a light weight Lithium battery.

Might be a way to keep you going, and still in the loop so to speak

Just back from the Heaven meet at Gloucester which was unfortunately washed out. With over 130 riders entered it would have been a huge affair. Caught up with a couple of vTr members ,sold them T-shirts and a couple of Heaven guys bought some as well. Heaven was so pleased to see me selling our shirts that Secretary Greg Scriven bought Greg, Dennis and Myself a 2015 Gloucester TT shirt each, which are already a collectable due to cancellation because of the bad weather, out of his own pocket. In turn I bought him a vTr shirt on the proviso that he wears it at sign on at The Lakes next Heaven meet

Sizes are XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL. Don't be put off by the larger sizes. Just slip it on over your coat, jumper or jacket around the campfire. Nobody will comment on your dress sense

These shirts have travelled 2,600 Klms and we still have over 50 left. So don't forget your money at Canowindra in two weeks. There is a huge list of things we need to buy to keep making these rides successful.
