The tyre thing has been cleared up, Lyndel Butler has approached MA and there are no special rules, basically run era correct, as per the MOM's and it will be all good. If there is any confusion on what is available PM me and I will try and give you the heads up.
As I have mentioned before the majority of punters will be on trials tyres and they will work.
The Temora Club runs a great event, hopefully all the talk about tyres is done and we can get there and race.

Can you swap from 23 to 21 for the xl500 , because the other xl500 models came with a 21 inch wheel

From Lyndel Butler's report, as per the MOM's, any components from era's. ie. 16,18,19,20,21 and 23 inch wheels were available in 1974 therefore they can be used in pre-75 racing laced up to era correct hubs at any wheel. Good description @ FB, OZ Classic Dirt Track.

Pete's got it right, no OEM wheel requirement and tyres are your choice, as it has ever been ! Any wheel or rim size fitted must be era correct, ie available in the era your bike is, or a replica, simple really!

Now to find a rider for me Hagon TT 500, The Gally already has a pilot !

I have to pull out of this race meeting.
So I have cancelled my booking with the Temora Motel.
Phone them on 02 69771866 to get the closest accommodation to the track.

Heard a rumour the meeting is cancelled. Not enough numbers. Approx 50 entries - not enough for the club to host the meeting :( I feel for the club as we know they put on a good meet!!

This is devastating news to the faithful.

The club put everything into running this event as I know Canberra did last year. Oh well the tribe has spoken.

Well it is time to move on to other things I reckon. Such a shame that a sport that gives so much to those that participate is decimated by apathy.

Apologies for the rant but I am one pissed off dirt tracker!

This is a great shame. My only input is the date clash with CMX titles, at least two of us from Brisbane MCC would have supported it otherwise. Also I don't think the tyre controversy helped. 52 cleared it up and a call to the club would have given a ruling, but it kept getting traction on the forum.

Two years in a row, entries around the 60 mark, not enough to run many championship classes (I heard we only had the numbers for 4).
Our modern dirt track Nationals get about he same numbers.
Our dirt trackers have to run the same program as our MX brothers, this is not helping.
This is not the end of vintage dirt track just the catalyst for change.

Just coped a spray from the owner of the motel I was going to stay at. Can understand him completely as he has turned down quite a few enquiries, such as guests for weddings. Real pity for a small country town. Was only spectating this year but will have bikes ready for next year, hopefully some club might take it on. I think it's possibly a growth area if handled well for the older bodies that can no longer hack VMX.
