Need help with 400 conversion
« on: March 01, 2015, 07:21:50 pm »
Hi , fitting a cz 400 with a dh reed block and 36 mm mikuni into a 74 125 frame . The reed block spaces the carb back a bit further but now the carb doesn't fit between the std metal air box and the reed block .
Are the plastic air boxes any different ? or do I have to chop up my air box ( which I don't want to do )
What have other people done ?
Thanks

Plastic airboxes are the same size as the original steel & replica aluminium airboxes, I never used my plastic 1 because of the lack of locating lip for the filter although there is now a kit being made in the states to sort that
If you're using a new mikuni then the bellmouth needs shortening, even without the reed it will almost touch the front of the airbox
