CR80 rear wheel I.D

I never thought that I would be asking questions about mini-bikes, because they were never my thing. But we recently purchased a tricked up '77 XR75 for a grandson and have been doing a bit of tinkering with it . It has a CR80 front end on it , so I decided to replace the standard XR75 back wheel for a CR80 back wheel, to have an alloy rim to match the front. I purchased a wheel off Aussie Ebay that was advertised as being from an '81 CR80, but it didn't have the matching backing plate. I then purchased a backing plate from U.S Ebay, that was advertised as from an '81 CR80, but it is too big to fit the wheel that I purchased. So I was wondering if any of the experts on here know which model wheel (and even if it is actually a Honda wheel) that I have , so that I can source the correct backing plate ? Inside the hub, the casting says that the max. diameter is 100.75mm. I will post up another pic of the other side of the wheel.

When you say it has a floating plate, I take it you mean that it requires a torque arm that has the other end bolted to the swingarm ? This is what I require anyway, but it needs to be the right size to fit the 100mm brake drum.

81 CR80's had steel rims,They started with alloys from 82 on, The six stud sprocket mounts make me think that it's maybe not a Honda wheel, could be wrong though

I think that's a late-ish (mid '80's) yamaha hub you have. The '80 and '81 CR80's have a 3 bolt sprocket. 1982 has a 4 bolt sprocket. 1982 was the first alloy rim CR80. I can help you out with a 1980 CR80 hub and brake plate, which fits up to the XR swing arm without too much drama. You should be able to use the alloy rim you have as it is not conical and 36 spoke. You might need new spokes though.

I googled '86 CR80 and also '86 YZ and KX80 and they all appear to have only 4 studs holding the rear sprocket on . So it is a bit of a mystery what bike this rear wheel originally came from. If you look much later than '86, the rear wheels would have a disc brake instead of a drum.

Kawasaki KX80 use 6..... try say 81/ 82 onwards.

I was thinking the rim with the flanged bead edge looks RM80Zish, 1981 model

Thanks for the replies, guys. I am away with work and have limited internet access, so have been unable to respond. But it appears that Tim and Doc are on the money, as this '81/'82 KX80 hub looks to be the same as the one that I have. Now all I need is a brake backing plate to match and fortunately the KX80 backing plate is a full floating type, which suits my needs. Also have to check axle sizes.
