It has long been known that James has ADD (attention defecite disorder) so how the ruling applies to amphetamine is a long bow to draw. Unless of course they do think that he was genuinely lying to his doc and was cheating.

The thing that keeps getting missed , is no the he needed to take the ADD  medicine, rather that as a highly paid / advised rider in todays PC world . It was his job as a professional to adhere to his sports conditionals .
He or his management failed him.

James , has yet to say " I  stuffed up " ..if I had got the exemption , I would not be , under this enquiry . I'm guilty of not following a procedure designed to exposed cheats , but not of cheating . 1 law for all.

Unless James didn't tell his doctor he was a professional athlete it is his doctor who has stuffed up.  I'm sure the doctor would have known how James earnt his living.

James has the chance to appeal the decision.  If he did it, say so and ask for leniency.  This is how they do it.  If you try to saw you didn't do it etc they come down hard.

Man up and say I stuffed up and you never know.  He won't get off without some penalty.

I have mixed feelings about this. 
For years I had friends and enemies calling me racist because I used to point out all of James faults - both as a rider and as a professional athlete. As most of them eventually realised, when I pointed out the dumb-shit things he did it was because those things usually brought out the racists calling for his blood and when I called him a lawn dart and pointed out his riding technique errors and inexplicable crashes it was because what he was doing was to be blindingly obvious.  In this case however, I am glad that something is being done to clean things up - but very sad that James is the one paying the price.

The sad reality is that the amphetamine James was using (Adderall) is a drug that is being used/abused by top amateur and professional sports people widely.  In fact, one of the medical team on the AMA circuit advised me that when treating injured riders they are queried about any medication they are taking and more than 50% advised they were on Adderall.  That my friends should have been a warning for someone to sit down with the AMA and discuss this.  That those riders were prescribed it is beyond the point - it is just an indication at how corrupt & unethical the medical/pharmaceutical industries are.

Yes James deserved a penalty for this and IMHO that penalty should have been in the form of racing he was competing in when he was busted - the AMA Motocross series.

The penalty is back dated to when the sample was first taken.  It is for sixteen months so he can race again in August next year.

James Stewart is not a kid he is 28.  I have read his response to all this, to his fans and sponsors.  He is yet to say "I did the wrong thing and I'm sorry".  It doesn't matter how he received the drug (unless it was administered without his knowledge), he is responsible. 

Take responsibility and ask for some leniency.  Say he will use his profile to assist WADA to show the dangers of drugs etc.

He is probably a mutli millionaire already and does not need to race, but for his own well being he needs to take a positive attitude.  Get any injuries he has fixed and use his profile for the good of the sport.
