I didn't think I had too many bikes? Bloody neighbours.
« on: November 28, 2014, 12:58:14 pm »
I just got a letter from my local council, they want to inspect my home business ..... I don't have a 'home business', so I call the council, apparently the neighbours have complained that I am running a motorcycle business in my garage!!!

The neighbours complained that there are so many bikes in my garage and they get started during the day (maybe once or twice in a week, and no longer than a minute).  Plus they see bikes on trailers coming & going from my place!

The bloke at the council told me to put my details in a letter and all should be cool once he comes to visit.

My neighbours don't realize what 'hornets nest' they have opened!!!!

Of course local drug dealers seem to go on unmolested >:(   Stupid bloody busy bodies!
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I guess the neighbors are off your xmas list this year.
I make a bit of noise, but my neighbor has a jet engine for f*uck knows why but he used to wind it up for hours everyday and the noise and jet fumes where getting beyond a joke.  I just stuck my head over the fence and said there was a problem and he has toned it down.  All cool...

Moving out of town doesn't resolve the issue altogether.  When we moved from 10 acres down to a smaller 1 acre property that had a tired old dog fence around it, my neighbours used to:

1) jump the fence and plug their hose into my bore pump to fill their tank
2) video me working in my shed on my cars and bikes and
3) send letters from their solicitor when I dared spray paint a small repair on the rear of my Landcruiser

Solution?

I fenced the entire acre with a 6 foot steel fence.  Asswipes :(

Some years ago I was renting a place in a fairly swanky cul de sac, I used to park my tow truck out the front of the property overnight  as it was a steep drive down to the property and not much turning space . I used to roll out of the Cul de sac and around the corner before starting it to be considerate at night re the noise, it was a fairly new and tidy truck but the neighbours objected as it apparently looked ugly  ::)

Nobody approached me directly they snuck off to the council and had a cry ( Gutless Kunts )

The council compliance bloke came to visit and told me I could only park it there for 2 hrs at a time . I didn't argue I just clarified that if the vehicle was parked for 2 hrs and then moved away I could then return for another 2 Hrs ? . He said technically yes that's correct but you could park it off the road and out of sight, I said correct and they could have approached me directly and I probably would have done that. I said I don't pick fights but if they wanna war bring it  ;D

So naturally during the day I would park the truck down the drive but about 8.00 PM I would park it in the street and religiously go out at 1 hr and 55 mins start it up drive to the end of the road turn around and park up again and do this every 1hr and 55 mins all through the night ( in between call outs ) .

I did that every other night for a fortnight  until the neighbourhood mafia sent over their contingent to ask me to stop. I pointed out it was them who drew first blood and that I was only doing what the requested via the council . I said I would consider going back to the original arrangement of parking it up overnight in the road but the council said I couldn't do that . I suggested that I would need some reassurance from their council mates that if I went back to parking overnight that I would not be ticketed .

Normal service was resumed , I went about my business and they continued to be arseoles to another neighbour about him washing his boat in the street  ::) but left me alone  ;)

A while ago my uncle told me a story about when he bought his house in the 50s. About a week or so after he moved in he got his shot gun out & walked around the property shooting rounds into the ground well the police arrived a short time later & they spoke for a while & then left.
The stories in the area after that event left his house safe for years. The people thought he was a escaped criminal. Jimson

My Fav story comes from my mate. The police turned up one night around 9.00 and said they had a complaint. He didn’t think much of it at the time and let it go. Then they kept coming back on other evenings.
The Police were over it as well. But the New guy kept complaining. Well it turned out he was renting the house so my mate tracked down the owner and simply purchased the house from him. He went down knocked on the door and told the new guy he was his landlord. Now F#ck Off, turned and left problem solved.

Time to move out to the track John. Very little you can do once the neighbors start being jerks. Every time someone complains the council must act or they get accused of "not doing their job". Tough one mate. Hope it works out.
