Echo Valley - Sunday 19 October
« on: October 03, 2014, 12:12:13 pm »
Hi Guys,

I am looking forward to the combined BMCC-QVMX club day at Echo Valley later this month.
2nd year in VMX and I have only ridden that great track once. That was on my TM 250 - a bit hard on the body! This year on the RM125B should be better.
There was a great photo I would have liked to be taken last year. In the 'one bike' race I was on the grid between Glen Bell and James Deakin. I think the TM was about 2 feet lower than their bikes! A big thrill for me - I even left them alone to fight for the holeshot :)
I mentioned to a VMX stalwart, Wayne Skyring, the other night how good the track at Echo Valley was and he said how he liked to ride it in the 70s!

Did someone ask why we are not all out racing :)

The track isn't the track it was in the late 70s early 80s, but it is still better than most tracks.  It was my favourite track back then.

I have a DVD from a super 8 film of the 1977 Mountain Man MX.

For all the people that struggled with the step up jump at the PC Nats they have cut the top off it, the 65cc bikes do it now. They have done some work on the track and there are 2 options for a lot of it. It will be a great meeting, see you all there.

Sorry, no sidecars this time as we're all off to Sth Australia for the 1st Annual Murray Williams cup.
The main feature event is open to all comers with 3x20min heats back to back with 3mins breather from when the last sidecar crosses the line of the previous heat.
Rumour has it that Jamie has taken to riding a training bike around Bribie to get in shape.....pity it's an exercise bike with only one wheel and he keeps asking why he's not getting any closer to the Tavern ??????
Have a great meet guys.
