2014 AUSSIE CLASSIC ROAD RACE CHAMPS @LAKESIDE, BRISBANE

There on this weekend at the old Lakeside track, QVMX have a display at the SHANNONS big rig transporter [ got to try and convert some of those tar babies...LOL]. Come and say gidday, the racing will be awesome. This meeting is huge, practice Thursday, qualifying Friday, racing Sat and Sun. Graeme Crosby and Kork Ballington are just some of the legends there. There's a few VMXers there already soaking it up. The club running the event [QEMSC] had to jump through all sorts of hoops to get this meeting happening.....NOISE being the big issue. If you have never been to Lakeside then go have a look, it's a very cool track. I wonder if Lozza will be there?

Cam Donald's Suzuki XR69 [#86] was bloody fast, Mal Campbell's TZ750 [ bike with the yellow tank had issues but was blindingly fast as well ].....the amount of beautifully prepared bikes puts a lot of shame to some of the bikes that turn up to VMX meets. 400 riders entered including 40, yes 40 sidecars!....again, puts shame to the Aussie VMX titles. Great crowd numbers, if only we could pull half this amount you would throw a party. They obviously know something we don't. Our VMX bike display at the Shannons Insurance big rig is getting a lot of traffic, if only we could get some of that money and the riders from the road racers to come over to the "dark side".... . It's been a long time since I have seen bikes at Lakeside, was spectacular then as it is now. One glaringly obvious standout is how NOISY the single and twin cylinder 4 stroke bikes are......and how 2 strokes kick 4 strokes arses........don't worry about banning the burka......ban the 4 stroke!!!!. Can't wait for tomorrow's racing to start. Lisa has picked out a new RR sidecar..... ....she's hooked.

The Vincent is a bit second hand after crashing off the main straight in the 2nd to last race today

If its the same one that I think it is , it is an every bit hand  built/cast replica of one , a beautiful piece of work by its maker
