New compressor
« on: September 25, 2014, 12:46:06 am »

I picked up my new compressor from the TNT depot today and it looks even better than the photos.  200ltr tank and it fills really fast and the recovery is unbelievably fast.  My original compressor shit it's self last week, or I thought it had.  At the weekend I pulled it out from under the bench where it has lived for the last few years and found the oil was a bit low but still showing on the site glass the pump turns over with no problems.  I then checked the motor and it is also fine, the belt is a bit worn  so I don't know if that caused it to slip or if something else caused it to slip and that caused the wear.  I have run it cosistantly each day since the weekend while i'm in the workshop and the bastard doesn't miss a beat.  So it looks like I could have saved some money.

Joel this one is 3 phase and a bit of overkill in that it is 42 cfm but the price was cheaper than buying a 11 cfm compressor from BOC.  The seller has been selling this model for almost 8 years with hardly any problems so it was a no brainer for me, specially when the wife paid for it for me.  Give me a ring when you decide to start looking for one.
