I would like to see the 2015 Australian vintage Titles to be held at Barrabool Geelong Victoria. I would be a honor to raise your classes and make a toast to the Barrabool Track, to the Mcadam Family and the sporting Club for many years of racing and to people that made barrabool and its history from the very early 60`s to 2015. it will be a sad day. and I would like M.A M.V get behind the club and help support such an event for the last time.
A wonderful thought Dave but . . . who said Barrabool is dead? Was it one bloke from MA (now gone) who convinced a board it was the way to go? And was it a sell out for dollars or the good of the sport?
I suggest that all riders ask MA to provide the legal reasons they are saying it is not possible to continue motorcycling at Barrabool and it should close - when you find that one out get them to please show us as we would like to know! (secret out of court settlements to save money aren't legal reasons).
If everyone were to come to Barrabool we don't want everyone to endorse MA's mistakes by saying "wasn't it great" - rather we want them to be crying "why isn't the club being given the chance to go it for another 50 years?"
The neighbours have said from the very beginning that the club continuing (not MA) at Barrabool was something they would accept. What they wouldn't accept was MA's absurd future plans of overuse. MA didn't back off on this elevated usage, they lost. Remove MA and you remove the problem.
The facts are the land still enjoys legal existing usage rights and always could, that right has not been lost! I bet no-one has seen that said in any press release from MA?
MA has simply volunteered to extinguish these rights that were proven by the SMCC in 2011 in VCAT.
We have all been stooged. Why is everyone sitting back and allowing this to happen?
The next 50 years starts now.
