In what can only be described as extremely lucky, my bikes have been located and are now in the possession of the Police awaiting my return home to Victoria o pick them up.
The local Police, friends and family have all been trawling the area where we live constantly since the theft, and I don't know if the crooks got spooked, or heard about the amount of people looking for them (and willing to form a hanging posse old western style :-) )or what, but they were found leaning against a fence of a mining equipment repair business not far from my place.
The Police rang and said they had a call from the business owner, who told them what he had found when he turned up for work in the morning. He then described the bikes to them, and they knew straight away whose they were.
The Police went out and photographed them, and sent the photos to me for i.d. purposes. The previously immaculate and original CR is now devoid of any stickers anywhere, but I don't care, I have them back !!
Many thanks for all the support from everyone, including the young guys who work in the local bike shops who took to social media to spread the word( I normally am a social media opponent, but in this case, it may well have been the cause of me getting the bikes back! )
The money I would have spent on replacing the bikes will now be spent on upgrading insurance, alarm systems and maybe an angrier dog.....
John Orchard, I didn't know you knew my wife, Lol !!
