Stratford Vinduro (Vic.) on October 5, 2014
« on: September 05, 2014, 08:55:06 pm »
The Stratford Vinduro will be held on Sunday 5 October, at the same location as last year. Address details and directions will be made available soon.

Just like last year there will be two loops: one on private property, and another utilising local bush tracks. No rego will be required for the private property loop, and  rego will be needed for the other. Full registration or Club Permit is okay, and recreational registration is suitable for this event.

The Unregistered Vehicle Permit (UVP) option will also be available, and the application form is available now:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B834Ap3O8vMdeE1oS0R5TWpydVE/edit?usp=sharing

Please get these in ASAP. You can send them in ahead of the entry form (seeing as the entry form isn't quite ready yet).

There'll be camping available on site, although there will be no facilities aside from portable toilets.

Keep checking the VERi website for updates.

Entries are rollin' in... If you want to ride the bush track loop, and need a permit (UVP), please send it in ASAP.

Here are a couple of pics from last year (sorry I can't recall who sent me these)...

Land owner Ross, with helpers Norm and Greg, has been hard at work preparing the private property loop with tractor and slasher, and a bulldozer! The track is reported to be in excellent shape, and the pits and camping area have been manicured.

"All is good, the boys had a crack last Sunday on modern bikes and young bodies could not get under 25 minutes to the end of the plantation on the hill so we can look at 30-40 minutes for old blokes on old bikes...” said Ross recently.

The track has also been tested using a variety of Ag bikes by Ross, who legend has it manages to do all of this with a beer always in hand!

The last pegging out and setting up of bunting will occur this week.

If you haven’t pre-entered, have no fear, as you can enter on the day.

Man the action stations everyone! Stratford is this weekend!!! The course will be laid out by legend Norm Watts so it'll be a cracker - the terrain is a mix of tight and open so will suit all tastes (unless you like a beige ride). The closed loop has been extended to approx 30 mins and the red plate loop 35-40 mins so there's plenty of riding on offer and even the weather is looking good (unless the BOM muck up VERi's arrangement)
The drive from Melb is a bit dull but is easy freeway running and will see you there in good time. Camping is available at the venue, a dunny supplied and a good chance of some b/s around a campfire with other similarly afflicted souls!
And better again, if you are thinking of just attending for the day, PRE-ENTRY IS NOT REQUIRED, so just rock up, pay and ride. How easy is this?  :D

From the VERi Facebook page.

Today's weather was kind, but the tracks although great fun, weren't always as kind! The local lads really pulled out all stops to create some sublime riding for those that made it to this event. The private property loop was extended and took about 30 minutes to complete. The rego-required bush track loop was rated very highly by those that rode it.

The start of the event was delayed so that some folks who forgot to wind their clocks forward an hour could make it!

Everyone who took part spoke highly of both loops, but sadly the course wasn't always kind to riders and bikes. Alex Waterhouse knocked himself around a bit after a dramatic high-side, and Alex Yeomanson also injured his foot. Get well soon guys.

Bikes weren't spared either with with Curtis Pullinger snapping a shock absorber, and John Hicks ruptured his fuel tank.

Specific thanks must go to Ross Hulls, Ray Anderson, Norm Watts, Ian Foster, Rachelle Wilkinson, and George & Barb Goddard.

Keep an eye out for the photos. Here's one of Drakie on his Jawa in the meantime...
