CR125/MR175 as a Pre 75 250?
« on: September 03, 2014, 05:19:11 pm »
Can I legally run a '74 CR125 with a MR175 top end as a Pre 75 250?

I think the MR175 was a 75 model so it would be a year too late

1975 cr125s are pre 1975 legal as a follow on

The 75 CR125 is a follow on model as you say but the 175 came out in 75 and there's no 74 to be a follow on from.

I reckon it would be a great bike, sort of like a TM185 but I must grudgingly admit the CR does handle better

That is not easy to do & wouldn't be worth the effort. You have to ride in the 250 class unless you want to be sneaky so would be out powered anyway.

Terry Sayer and one of the Krizaic twins have the 125, damn frustrating sitting on a 400 and looking down a pea shooter exhaust thats walking away from you, the little things fly.  ::)
If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards.
