500 AE for Brasilian Magazine
« on: August 19, 2014, 05:59:07 pm »
Hi All
A brazilian journalist ( Ramos André) contact me about 500 ae.
[email protected]
He wants to make an article about 500 ae.
I know there's a lot of 500 owners in OZ and need help.

He want to know who is ridden this 500 ae.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwLZQY1UMU4

The message he sent me:

"Hi Michel,
Thank you very, very much for all your efforts. First, let me explain to you about our magazine and the interest for this bike.

Pro Moto is a bimestral magazine with 15 years of existence in the Brazilian two wheels market. We have a website, and printed and online versions (this last for iPhone, iPad or Android platforms) - our printed version has 20k exemplars that are distributed for all our country.

Our interest in this bike raises when our editorial coordinator watched a video in You Tube and, like I’m his editor-in-chief, ask me to reach more information and hi resolution pics to write an article about it.

But I confess to you: before this task, I never had hear anything about this bike, and like this is an old bike, is very difficult to find information in internet. In my researches, I realize that there are three different models of this bike (XC, CR and WR). Am I right? And all of them has automatic clutch? and I realize also that there was a 430? There was other models?

And are you a fan of events like Vinduros? O do you only recover these bikes?

Thank you and sorry if I cause troubles to you.

Ah, sure: I live in Sao Paulo.. and you?
This is my Facebook page profile: https://www.facebook.com/andre.ramos.35380

Cheers.

I'm riding the bike in the video.
Shoey or Husky Pete are the local authorities on Autos.

Shoey put together a great article in VMX Magazine on all models etc, unfortunately I can't remember which issue.

I have a 500 ae motor installed in a 240 frame, but cannot ride it in Enduro because
I haven't the 500 papers. My restoration is not finished.

Did I see reference to course cutting.

I'm happy to say I have been receiving master classes from the Welsh supreme master of course cutting , I expect to be certified in the near future.

I have one the 88 430 water-cooled auto's and they a very fast with excellent suspension

Autos are the way forward , see you round like a robot
Take the short cut, go Cross Country
The shortest distance between two points is Cross Country
CCM's and HL's bark like mad dogs
