Awesome looking bike (and workshop as well) but I have to ask if it's actually a rider or just built for show?

Don't get me wrong I love the look of the bike and can appreciate how much time and money has gone into it but as an example, how long do you think that muffler would stay on the bike?  I've studied the pics and can't see any rear bracket on the pipe at all .. just a stainless hose clamp to hold on the unsupported muffler to the unsupported rear tailpipe section??

Sure those Ohlins are going to provide a smooth ride but not that smooth :)

Who cares about the boat anchor.  How about the great 490 Maicos in the background of the fourth photo in.

Dave,

Has raced HL #1, but this one is probably for his museum.  He races at least one of the Maico 490's and also a 74.5 GP 440.  The only other bike I have witnessed him race is an '80 Honda CR250/480 Hybrid.  He is lightning fast on the Maicos, but I have seen him beaten to the first corner by a CR480 twice.  ;)

That's how you sell a bike, with heaps of good quality photos, not a couple of out of focus shots taken on a phone in the dark.... >:(

Can't call him a collector, there's no green in there  ;D
