Heaven VMX - Cessnock - 6-7 Sept
« on: August 15, 2014, 08:47:43 am »
Well we are setting off for Canberra this weekend.

There is a quick turn around for the next round on 6-7 Sept at Cessnock.

We were to visit Clarence but unfortunately that is not possible and Cessnock was the best option to avoid a date change.

Flyer and entry form here

It's a long way to drive for Snowy so can someone who lives close to the track give an update.

Cheers

obviously we need a local on the ground analysis, yes eg; Big Scotty, or so

In the meantime, I will have a punt,,
Keeping in mind I am an optomist
Saddle up and head for Cessnock ASAP ;D ;D ;D ;D
My judgment based on these details
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/nsw/hunter/cessnock

Scroll down Check the weeks rainfall out
Had No rain on Monday
None on Tuesday
ok 3mm on Wednesday >:( >:(
But None again yesterday.
And only 0.4 of a mill today.

There has been strong breezes all week with lower relative humidities, more commonly known as track drying breezes,
most likely a giant dust-bowl at the moment.
Temperatures are forecast to progressively rise over Saturday and Sunday
The major satellite cloud mass has been pushed to the North Coast, with nothing of significance building in the south or over the Tasman to replace it. So any sun showers will be indeed only that.
May get a couple of light showers this weekend, but that is all they will be,
My guess is that the track should currently be in very good nick
And in the event of any sun showers the track will dry quickly with the constant low humidity moderate breeze.

Anyhow, shoot me if I am wrong ::)

All pretty much as Mick D said.  (Sun has been out most of the day in Newcastle)
Just rang Chris Watson M/Cs and worker scot said just a tiny little bit of rain - should be good for it.
Cessnock Club President Col Bailey tells me he has had a worker on the track today and it should be in great shape. (Maybe he'll post some pictures on Cessnock club page if he gets time)
(Canteen is open over the weekend)

Just spoke to the Cessnock President who was leaving the track after prep. There was a very small shower today and he reports that the track is looking way better than when we rode their in July.

Tommorrow and Sunday forecast is much the same as today with a lower chance of rain. Lets hope that comes true.
