Woo Hoo I made yr Clip @ 19:01 was hoping u would sit behind me for a bit, but u waited for the others. I am sure u guys passed me in again prob in pt2    pretty sure it will be at the next Killer hill  good job

I was happy to take off dead last so I could get some footage of everyone but I only passed a few riders. I thought I might see a few more but they all rode faster than me  cheers

Thanks for the clip John, it was nice to relive the event. I chuckled when I saw that you took the same 'easy way' that I did at 11.18, and gave 'the bridge' as miss at 13.03 (I went to the left though).

Funnily enough I didn't get stuck once at Blackwood, but last night rode through what I thought was an easy enough route through a creek at home and got stuck. Freezing cold, knee deep water flowing into boots as I huffed and puffed, but at least there was no-one around to see it! 

By the way, did anyone at Blackwood find a silver Canon camera in a purple bag? It would've been around the start/parc ferme area.

By the way you did look Comfortable  on the XT250

yes thanks mate, it was a comfy ride, it was my mates bike and his arse is a little closer to the ground than mine. Couldn't have been happier though once I turned the idle up a smidge to keep it running on long downhill sections. Nothing I put to it was too much trouble. Still getting used to the engine braking though.

Got stuck on that first hill though.  Couldn't get the right balance between spinning too much in first and bogging down in second.

You should have been on an XT250 Serge, excepting the fact that you would need to become a distinguished gentleman and that may have been more difficult than finding traction on that hill.

I actually shit that hill in and wasn't going fast, the bike just kept going and as long as I steered it away from trees and ruts it went up.
