CZ Questions
« on: July 30, 2014, 07:49:34 pm »

Just a couple of questions for you CZ fella's.

 (1)  Were all CZ side piper exhausts fully chromed?  My header and heat shield have been chromed but the rest of the exhaust appears never to have been plated.

 (2)  Was the rear brake back plate coated the same as the hubs?  It is made from pressed metal not magnesium like the front brake backing plate and on my bike it looks like it has a yellow zinc or cadmium plate would that be right.

Rear brake plate is pressed aluminum with a steel strap between the brake pivot & anchor bolt which on the new ones from Europe is zinc plated from the looks of it, the aluminium is just left natural. Have a look at www.czmotocross.eu to see what the new ones look like

I saw your question about the airbox on mark's swapmeet, did you manage to sort the correct one Zane?

Tony my bike has a fibre glass airbox, I just wasn't sure if it was original of if they came out with a steel airbox.  No replys yet.

Sidepipe has a one piece inner guard & airbox, pretty sure it would be fibreglass like the later inner guards

I am now ready to paint the tank, anyone know the paint colour code.  It was a red/orange colour but I want to get it right.  Thanks in advance.

my 71 yellow tanker has the air box as part of the rear guard , no mounts on frame to hang a steel air box
