Hi All,
On Sunday Brooksie and I went down to Cooka to start getting 'the spot' ready for this weekends event.
After some typical Brooksie 'fluffing-about' we get to work.
After a leisurely drive, we arrive at Cooka, what a sight, this place is 'sacred'. The man loves to mow, so on to the Deutchmesiter and he's away, first cab off the rank, the common area and the parc ferme.
I get the WR200 ready for it's first outing and set off with a few of the Holbrook MC boys to start marking the track, the marking is hard going. There are lots of trees over the track and in an attempt to lengthen the bush section of the course we traverse the hill side for hours on end. After a lot of work it's done. The best bush section in the events 4 year history.
Next we head 'out-the-back' to mark the BRAND NEW sections, whilst navigating the open spaces at the back of the property I see a ute with a trailer bouncing through the paddocks.... In the trailer is a Deutchmesiter ride on mower and in the passenger seat is a smiling Mr Brooks. They drop him smack bang in the middle of the paddock and he starts mowing madly, this I soon find out is the BRAND NEW section of the track! Personally mown by Adam Brooks! Special indeed....
Pretty knackered by this stage so I head back to the bush section and remove any dangerous obstacles, after being at it all day my gloves blow out, big holes in them! The rocks, sticks, etc have taken their toll. So the bush section is pristine and ready for a good thrashing come the weekend. I head back to base camp and everyone is on deck, we chew the fat briefly, pack up and commence our 6 hour drive home.
The parc ferme ready for the fine machinery to roll in.All packed up, ready to hit the frog and toad.-------------------------------------------
The track is going to be a cracker, there are some great new sections out the back and we have tried to utilise as much of the bush section as possible. I know we said this last year but this year it is the best it's ever been.

Cheers
Jock
