RM 125/250 CONICAL FRONT HUB
« on: July 09, 2014, 07:06:06 am »
Does anyone know if late 70's RM125 or 250 had a conical front hub? I thought the Suzukis all had full width hubs but would be keen to know which models if any had conical style front hubs.

Cheers Jason

got one on  trademe nz auction 751855727 light as a feather [think magnesium], can't find it now but had a titanium brake cam, think just an ally arm though [might've sold it]. never had the brake plate as such or if i did it's with another wheel the same in  my xr200/pe frame [thingy]. Wheel has brake drum liner countersunk screwed into he hub. found a similar wheel pic of a production rm wheel and the external ribs on brake hub part are further apart [or closer sorry without looking--different anyway] so this one is 'trick' me thinks--hence the price lol. sorry typing one finger while having a cuppa, cheers. ps, had this [with a dt1/rt2 brake plate in my rt2--terrible i know.

Why I ask is that I found a set of spokes for a conical hub in a bag labelled Suzuki RM and I thought that it may have been a mistake, perhaps PEs of the same era use the same hub? Anyway , on closer inspection I found the part number label which looks to be 55300-41830.

This marries up with William's info as per the first reply, looks as though I have a set of spokes to fit RM125B, RM125C and RM250C.

I literally cant wait to part with them! Especially if you have 1980 RM100/125 parts to swap.

I am looking for a good seat (cover not so important as base and foam) and a RM125T Clutch basket/primary gear assy or even just a good primary gear assy that I can rivet a RM100 basket to.

If you dont have parts to swap then I'll take a pineapple, I think thats what I forked out for them.

Yes these are shouldered or swaged I believe is the term used.

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

If they're light it must be something special, original hubs are quite heavy...
