82 RM465 Vs RM500 rear cushion struts?
« on: June 18, 2014, 09:37:06 pm »
Has anyone fitted the aluminium rear cushion struts of a 83 RM to  a 82 RM?
Are they different lengths / etc?
Do they fit?
I've searched the site but couldn't really make out what the answers were.
If they do fit has anybody got any for sale?

Hi Mate, different lenghts and dont readily bolt on, probably can be made to fit with some spacers etc. Why change them?  YOu could probably use the Z swingare with D bell crank and struts and D shock or Z shock with spacers etc, WHY the change?
Z swingarm is shorter and strut mouts are more towards rear axle when compared to the D.

Kt.

Thanks for the info.
Won't bother. Only reason I was going to was I like the look of the aluminium struts.
Not worth the hassle if it doesn't bolt straight on.
Thanks again.

I would think that you would need the swingarm struts and cushion lever off the 500 D or 250 D (they are the same) to make the change mate.
D project is on the case as always.
