Suzuki RL250 frame wanted.
« on: June 16, 2014, 03:39:21 pm »
I'm in need of an RL250 frame. Year model not important.

Preferably not cracked but may consider anything if someone hasn't already taken to repairs with an arc welder ::)

Cheers Pokey..I saw those RL frames and knew I should have grabbed them when there was little interest...perfect 20/20 hindsight ::)

There was a guy at the Maleny swap a few months ago Doc that had 2 in bits, I don't think he sold them, maybe he will be at CD10.....see you there.

Thanks ppls..will keep looking.

Getting ready for CD10 today JT and noticed a crack under the steering head area of my brothers bike   :o ..someone's already attacked this and a few other areas hence the frames now pretty much cactus. Standard procedure a few days out from an event ::)

Hey chris, I can lend you mine if you're that keen/desperate? I'm halfway through a rebuild so its a bare frame basically.

Thanks for the offer Paul..the frame should be okay for CD10 but it'll need a permanent replacement very soon.

No worries,  I've read that the early ones crack at the steering head and near the foot pegs, they had extra gussets welded on to later models.

Hey Doc, if someone's already had a go at it then just clean it up and plate it just to be safe.

That might well be the best idea John.

I'd hate to stray from tradition Paul  :P  those 2 areas you mention are the ones in question. Must double check mine..it's never cracked or had the strengthening mods.  ???
