Suzuki PE 250 T questions
« on: June 11, 2014, 08:01:22 pm »
Helping a mate restore a 250 T. Couple of questions 1) rear shocks are KYB gas. No dampening therefore I assume gas long gone. Are they rebuildable? 2) Standard sprockets number of teeth. 3) rear tyre width? 4) Source for sprockets, piston and ring, base and head gasket. I'm in Vic. Thanks Jerry

The rear shocks are crap from new so they aren't worth rebuilding unless you are doing a concourse resto then you have to grind them apart and reweld them back together saying that I wouldn't throw them away as guys like myself would go to the trouble of having them rebuilt for showroom restos.

I have a couple of sets of works performance shocks they will build them to your specs well worth the money.

Standard gearing 13 front 52 rear usually ebay has some of all the bits you are after.

use this to find part numbers.

there is a suspension guy in brissy that can redo originals like that but if its a rider and not a show queen, id go for the wp or ohlins as a good set of rear boingers makes a PE very rideable.... just paint them black with silver springs if your that way inclined...or was the x that had that shock color combo??

It was champagne gold colour and they came out half way through T model run. Some T models still had black bodies with black springs. I got some T brochures with black springs and some with the champagne gold. I have only ever seen X and Z models with the gold springs though. Its the same deal with the CDI units, Some T's had gold case some had black.
