Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but yep, its gone. Went up in flames last night around 9pm, took about 10 CFA units to bring it under control. The fire appears to have started in the centre of the building according to a CFA volunteer, with the owners being away for the weekend and being told of the fire by phone. The fire re-ignited this morning around 6 when the wind fanned some smouldering embers, and fire units had to attend again and extinguish it. Many will have fond memories of the night after the 1992 Nationals when we all went to the pub afterwards. It was always a stop over for club members and riders after working bee's, and events , up until its closing as a pub not too long ago. Waiting on specialists to arrive from Melbourne to confirm the source of the fire.
