Every part on that bike is off an EVO bike. Look closer. All components including motor is off a EVO.

Horrible idea done well. Its as wrong as if someone put a chev in a cobra replica. Oh, wait, that does get done. I must be the one who is wrong.
Cheers.

Geez I now know why I think twice about posting in here.... the "legality Police" get you, or it's the "Price Cops" ..... FFS seriously guys... ::)

Great looking bike. It looks so damn nice. Great attention to detail there. Pass on to your mate Neil that it looks fantastic.
I'd be proud of that.

Is he planning on riding / racing it?

It takes a lot of work and thought in building a bike from non standard components. What fits and what looks good and is it better than the original. That one looks good and is a credit to the builder. Hope it works  just as nice.

I think that this bike looks fricken awesome. It's good to see that someone thinks outside the square for a change. I only wonder why I haven't seen this combination tried before in a hybrid, that would be Evo legal in just about anyone's interpretation of the rules. The only downside that I can see, is that this model Honda frame was not renowned for its handling. Apparently the frame flexed a lot, which is one of the reasons why Honda went to a twin down tube frame on the '80 CR250 RA.

It is for sure EVO legal & a real nice job, just not a true Honda. You can do the same using an '84 Husky 500 engine, but still not a Honda. Now if the rules allowed you to use a dirty old air cooled 480 engine..............
Doh! That conversation is getting old, my apologies.

That's a real nice job, great finish and looks good, although could you stick a 465 engine in a KLX and have a similar result?  Do you know how much effort was involved to make everything fit?

And that's what I like about the bike. Everything looks right with no bodgey bits. If you didn't know it was more Yamaha than Honda, you'd think it came out of the factory.
