Bloody hell Pancho, An Ansel, that's fairly rare, eh ? I like the maggy conversion, would that be Tig Perry, of Antig's work ? Ive got a pic of Billy Powell's unit 250 BSA Hagon somewhere, It has a similar maggy conversion.

What a ripper, I look forward to seeing and hearing the old girl turn some dirt again.
My B40 has the same engine mod, I'm contemplating converting it to a modern electronic ignition for reliability but feel I should keep it just as dad built it.
What do you guys think?

Steve, get the maggy overhauled and keep it how it was, that's the way I'd go.

Here's Billy Powell and his Unit 250 BSA with a maggy conversion with the rest of the 1972 St. George team at Griffith.

On the old W1sa Kawasaki twins I dealt with, it was cheaper to have modern electronics ( Boyer Bransen at the time) fitted up inside the original maggy housings than get the mags rebuilt. Looked exactly the same as nothing externally is changed, Improved spark and well much more reliable after instal and initial timing tune  . (Never had to adjust or touch again!!) Cheers Tim754

Fine looker the Ansel !! Hope the engine unit wear is an easy fix.

Ansel - sliders
Ansell - condoms ;) :D :D

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Sounds the goods. Bit oily at the moment but once the oil ring beds in should be fine. New Tyres on new quick action twistgrip couple of cables and a polish.
Ready to rock&roll on the 10th!   Cheers pancho
