I've seen this video before and enjoyed watching again just now, for me this concept captures exactly what vintage moto cross should be and is about to 90% of the people involved. No attitudes, no glory seeking, no bs...Just a bunch of old bikes, good people and a helluva lotta fun! Anything but a National title should be a day out exactly as is seen in this vid!!
Cheers, Brendan
Brendan I respect your opinion on what VMX should be but that is your opinion . Those blokes look like they are having fun and all power to them .
I think for the majority who are currently involved in vintage MX worldwide we prefer structured events and true racing on period true machines .
Vinduro seems to cater well for those who like to ride old bikes without the adrenaline rush of racing .
Sure there are shit fights over rules and regulations but there always have been as far as I can remember and I started racing in the mid 70s . If its not a proper race im not interested ( CD events being the exception where the riding comes second to the socialising ) and I could enjoy a vinduro as long as it was well organised and scored .
Every now and again I hear calls for more people to do what is in that video but it never amounts to anything in reality . Racers and former racers the world over got the current VMX movement off the ground and continue to keep it alive .
As I say all power to the Hillbillies in the video but its not what I would call VMX
