Help Fork Modification

 Just pulled some Marzocchi 40 mm forks apart and thay have a Aloy tube added to the top of the Damping Rod .

 that is  the small tube ( Center ) betwen the damping rod  (right) and the large tube spacer ( left )..

   when all togetter the fork still  has full travel.. and No the small tube has not been hitting  on the retain nut .

  the small tube fits in side the large tube  when fully compressed.

 The Mod  looks like it has been done very well  . I say by a Suspenion shop ..

Do I relpace seals and leave it alone or remove the small tube and go back to stand ...

I think Patrick & Bowers used to sell tubes like that in the early 1970s for Yamaha forks.  The idea was to keep the oil coming up out of the damper rod away from the springs so it didn't get thrashed quite so much and might also return to the lower part of the slider quicker.

lcky we al txt so we knw wat ur abut as to ur forks they just look like jap forks except for the small alloy tube on top of the dampener rod, are the small alloy tubes shown in the parts diagrams?

yeah its a different fork mod but hey if it was any good the japs would have been on to it and incorporated it into forks years ago, even the early upside down forks were using normal dampening rods in them
