how about the BMW 450 enduro ? {the bike David Knight had trouble with}
this had some interesting features but was not a big seller, and was quietly dropped after a few years.

Mine??
09 to current CRF150RB, why? Because its a true 1 off, never anything like it before and unlikely to be like it again considering the 1502t classes have now taken over. A four stroke, water cooled, high output 150cc factory built mx'er, can you show me another one??

Cheers, Brendan

Can I show you another one ? No, because they are a pile of dung, no one else wants to touch them with a 40 foot pole.
How are they high output?

I never said they were any good, just very different. And nearly 22hp isn't "high output" for a factory 150cc 4t? :-\
Yeah, but usually the good ones are the wise investments, Bultaco Lobito's aren't exactly a hot item, Maico 490's are.. The advantage you have is that in a few years you'll be able to lay your hands on heaps of them for free, then make a killing in 30 yrs.

Husaberg for sure, they won a heap of world titles in MX and Enduro against the big factories [I think Berg employed about 25 people], they only made a couple of thousand bikes a year and they set the std for the modern 4 stroke revolution [like it or not]. The FC501 motor has to be the best 4 stroke engine going......pull from any gear at any speed and can scare the shit out of you, even now if you put a top rider on one he will be up there. It's interesting that CCM's have a sort of cult following and pull big dollars but never really won much, on the other hand, the Berg's where always expensive but won shitloads.....the modern CCM maybe in collectability and value?. Any of the euro bikes from the mid 90's on will be sought after...TM, VOR, Vertimati, Husqvarna 410/610,  they all came with trick parts std.
QVMX.....Australia's #1 VMX club......leading the way.

I'm with the Husaberg on this one. Fast, light, different and very competitive. They were the leaders in 4t technology at the time and even the old 501's have no problem with roosting more modern big bores. And, the factory doesn't exist anymore.....
Arrogance.....A way of life for the those that having nothing further to learn.

Buy GMC products ;D then sit on them for a few years until I die then release them to the public :o
I would also like to point out that if you happen to buy a frame or exhaust that has a defect then instead of complaining to me you just sit on it and watch it's value grow.
Yeah, well, it works for coins & stamps ;D

Seriously though, if you put 5 grand in the bank at 5% interest and added the interest into the kitty each year then I calculate that in 20 years time it will have grown to $13266.00 ($8144.00 after 10 years)
How many of you can buy a bike and sit on it for 10 or 20 years and not spend any money on it?
If you want it to either ride it or sit in the pool room then do it but if you think its the way to get rich slowly then your just kidding yourselves.
Put the money in the bank then you will have enough to buy it in the future after someone else has bought it and restored it.
