Dirt Track titles 2014
« on: April 28, 2014, 09:08:14 pm »
As far as I know, ACTMCC is running the Classic DT Championships in Canberra in September. I may have missed it, but has anyone put their hand up for the Post Classic event?

I can't understand why it takes some host clubs so long to get Regs out. From the day we decided to pick up the 2013 Classic Nats the Regs were out in 5 days. Admittedly we were under the pump, but from that day until the gate drop for the first race was 7 weeks.
We submitted Regs for the Qld titles mid last week and they'll be out this week.
It is difficult for entrants to plan for these things when the relevant and needed information isn't forthcoming.

Anyone with an association with Canberra should suggest to them that they need to pull their fingers out.
Two years ago they came out very late because of the confusion with the split between Classic and Post Classic, mainly by the powers that be at MA.

The blockage with the supp regs seems to be down south, I've made a couple of phone calls to MA with no result, except " The Supp Regs will be out, end of the week " That was 5 weeks ago. I also put the ACTMCC DT person in touch with a CDT/MX Commissioner, at the Club's request,  a week or two ago, still awaiting developments !!!

I don't know that I can shed much light. I was told a week ago that when MA approves the regs is somewhat up in the air. Apparently though supp regs do not need to be issued until 3 months before a meeting, which would be June...

I am not a member of the ACTMCC club executive or dirt track committee, so cannot comment in an official capacity. My guess is that it will still be some weeks yet before they are available, but one can hope earlier rather than later.

Supp-regs must be sent to MA a minimum of three months before a National Championship, for approval.  For everything to be done correctly the key officials (except the Steward who is appointed by MA) should be on the supp-regs.  Also there is no reason why the host club could not apply to run the Post Classic and Classic Dirt Track Championships together. I don't know what the logistics would be and whether it will all fit into one meeting, but it is just a suggestion.
