Tallarook Vinduro this weekend
« on: April 28, 2014, 01:24:46 pm »
Hopefully you've blown the cobwebs out of your bikes at the Bonanza, and are ready for the Tallarook Vinduro this Sunday (May 4).

It's open to both registered and unregistered pre 85 bikes.

For those who attended last year, the loop on private property has been extended, and will take roughly 25 minutes to traverse. It's a bit rocky, a bit hilly, not too difficult and plenty fun!

There'll also be a trail ride with lead and sweep riders, probably about 60 kms in length.

Entry forms have been sent out to the VERi mailing list, and they should be available on our website shortly. You can also PM me and request one. Entry on the day is fine.

The location is Kingston Road, Tallarook.

See you there!

A slackarse club official has now uploaded the entry form for Tallarook on our website.
As there are 2 of us adding to the site you will have to guess which one of us is the slacker!

http://www.verivinduro.com.au/13/2014-calendar-of-events/

It should be another good one, see you there.

PS We will also have tickets available for our raffle bike for sale on the day, if ever you wanted a KDX 250 for $20.00 then this is the raffle you need to be part of.

We had a spot of rain last weekend but the last few days have been nice, tracks should be good for Sunday.

Entry on the day is fine, a pre filled entry form will make life easier for us all, they can be found on the VERi website.

This should be another top event, the only table tops you will have to deal with at this event is the one where you pay your entry.
My apologies if you have to suffer the indignity of having to 'step up' to the table

See you all Sunday

It's been brought to my attention that Kingston Rd doesn't appear on some internet maps. It is however marked on the map in the VicRoads/RACV Country Street Directory. Old school event, old school map, how about that!

Specifically it is Map 61, ref D4.

Basically, if you can find Landscape Rd which runs off Ennis Rd you should be fine as we'll put some signs out.

This was at the start of Kingston Rd. last year, expect something similar.
Kingston Rd. is a short dead end rd with the event at the end, you won't miss it

There is ample parking despite the pathetic attempts of some ;D

Ennis Rd is a non off ramp exit off the Hume just north of the Broadford exits

These events are just like the old Enduro's, you just follow the tyre tracks.
You may still get lost but you will be lost with someone else :o

The track was watered yesterday actually, today it's trying to dry out again.
Bridges? we try not to mention them.
Drakie made a bridge at an early Harrow in order to cross a rising river, he had good intentions, or so he says.
He laid some planks down and tied them with fencing wire.
The water rose and covered the planks.
He can't tie fencing wire for quids.
All the planks moved but nobody knew because they were out of sight under the water.
Nobody really knew there were planks there anyway.
Like contestants in a Japanese game show all riders floundered.
No man made it out alive
We they ran out of contestants riders they diverted around the river crossing
We try not to mention it because it scares contestants riders away
He had good intentions, or so he says.
