Those Grand National riders have been named a few times in the past.
At Broadford last week, DVMCC maniac Dennis 'Crazy Horse' Curran (four fifth place finishes in four years)
told me his hands would blister and burst. And that the raw skin would blister again. When he'd come
in (45 minutes-plus), his gloves would be soaked in blood, and he'd throw them in the bin.
Goof rated it as the toughest event.
An interesting yardstick, when you think of the GP riders back then ... routinely doing two 45-min motos
per Grand Prix. Imagine that on a short-travel big-bore, around a fully-whooped, hilly track. Ouchy wow-wow.
