Thought the ditching of the Montesa branding was only for their factory team which have nothing in common with the production bikes other than stickers

Just back from the trial,The logo is still on all the Repsol  team clothing of the riders, minders, mechanic etc. Also the name Montesa name is displayed right across seat insert. Must be a staged thing.
Bultaco Metralla, Matador MK 5, Montadero mk2, El Bandido model 18,plus lots of bits and two Honda XR's 250,350.

It all seems a bit of a rush job. I reckon all references to Montesa will slowly fade away. But it's also 30 years since Montesa and Honda joined up so I reckon that the contract is over and Honda now own the name and have decided to kill it.

As is the way with all great empires ,they rise and they fall (note that in mind mr Honda) , maybe just maybe they make a return .The economical juggernauts have no regard for tradition or history, the mighty dollar and drive for  profit  has command over all. Perhaps the very forces that drove Montessa out may one day rise it up again ,lead by passion instead of profit-- so I still say --viva montessa forever.... :)

The economical juggernauts have no regard for tradition or history

But we, the riders and sportsmen do. Remember this when considering your next purchase guys. Would you buy a bike from a company that would trash OUR sport in its pursuit of profit?
