Wow... Two things. Some people should never be allowed to have a dirtbike, that's the worst mess Ive ever seen. And... you are way braver than me, I'd have given up after I got the head off.

Nice work mate. Mine was a rolling frame and very large box of bits. After rummaging through I think no:
- barrel
- kick starter
- Front disc caliper, line or reservoir
- gear shift
- levers, cables, throttle assy

Shock in at RAD Shocks, forks in at RAD Hard Chroming, Clamps going to Brisbanes Best Polishing.

Very bloody exciting...

Yours should be way ahead of mine!

Lol. To be honest I've been sitting on a powder coated frame for at least 4 months! Only this week got the other gear to the recommended fellas up here. When I work out how to post the pics, I put up the photo of the frameā€¦and maybe a box of engine bits! Hahaha

Good build detail, look forward to the rest.
I reckon the bottom end was lucky to stay submerged, it kept the oxygen away otherwise it would have been a real mess

Man you are working quick!!!!!!!

The bottom end looks better than the top.
Your not wrong. The gearbox looks very good.
The barrel is at 57.5mm and I recon if I bore it to 58mm its last bore size
only 0.22-.25  mm will come off each side so I don't think it will get all the corrosion out of it with the pitting quite bad in few spots (in the top 30 mm of the barrel of course)
I'm looking at other options. No point spending $100 on a rebore to be told sorry its beyond repair.
I'm considering sleeving as I can get a LA sleeve for about $100 delivered I think. I have access to a 20 ton press at work and a mech engineer in charge who wants to fit out his workshop to fix bikes cause he loves em too:)
I think I'll watch a few vids :)
I'm looking at options at this moment in time.
Other options include buying a s/h one off ebay from the states etc..

I cannot work out why you are putting it back together without fixing every thing.
If it does not have spark that is a easy fix compared to pulling it down again.

I would fix everything and I would bet it will start as the electrics are simple.

When I did my cr125 I did everything and the only thing I missed was the fuel tap (full of old fuel like glue) after that it fired up 1st go (after being under water)

And ps Kurt cobain was the man!!!!!!
