1981 PE 400 BUFFER, CHAIN DEFENSE 61273-4060

Hi guys,
I'm trying to locate a replacement Chain Defence Buffer.....the nylon surround which protects the swing arm from the chain.
Does anyone know where I may be able to find either a new item or at least a good condition used one?

Unfortunately that part is NLA through suzuki the odd NOS one pops up on ebay every now and then.

This looks like one you need though I'd assume the rm250 and 400 used the same one well it looks identical to me.

Or you could probably make one your self fairly easily check shipping out though pretty dear, thanks Michael.

Hi Michael,
thanks for the suggestions.
They look very similar but not sure if I wish to spend that much to find out if it fits or not.
I have the original buffer, albeit worn & in two pieces, that I could trace out on a block and attempt to make my own.
Trying to avoid that if I can but it may be the only avenue.

I am sure it would fit if you aren't in a hurry I will buy one and attach it to a pe400 I am doing.

Also have you checked your swingarm bolt?

The pe250/400txz has a crook swingarm bolt in that the shank isn't long enough and doesn't quite make both frame holes well it is more that it is threaded to far too the thread bounces about in the frame hole and you may end up with a split arm if you don't rectify that all but ultra low hour bikes have this prob.
