Would anyone be willing to sell me a competitive race ready Pre 78 MX bike that is within driving distance from Coffs Harbour?

I have a very original 1977 YZ250D that I imported last year from the USA I'd consider selling. Low hour bike in as new condition. Was raced at 2013 Classic Nats. Located on Qld Sunshine Coast, a few hours drive from you

250 or over. Will pay up to 5k for the right bike.

Sorry Simo63, not too keen on Yamaha's.

I'm not sure why nearly no one remembers, I find it a historic moment in MX history. In 77 Yamaha had Bob Hanah race a bone stock YZ250 at the Daytona SX. Not only did he win on the overly rough Gary Bailey designed track, but it was so stock it was raffled off after the race.

Yes Bob was crazy fast. And crazy and fast. But he raced against full works bikes at the time. A feat like this was unheard of. So what I'm saying is the 77 YZ couldn't have been all that bad.

I have owned a couple of Yamy's and they were good, some strange reason I just can't take to them. Bit like a fat girl I guess, you know they are a damn good thing but just not attracted.
