I have a 1984 490 for sale. it has a 1983 seat and fuel tank . requires restoration. motor looks good. have not started it since I bought it out of the USA a year ago. He told me it is a 5 speed, but I have not confirmed this. $3500.00 firm.

 plus I had a look at it on Monday  5 speed American cross country mx model ,low on comp, seems to shift through the gears ok , fork leg don't seem rusty or pitted from what I could see, 83 tank and seat

Theres actually a 81 490 on ebay and the seller says that he has 5 other Maicos.
Might be worth a ring to see if he has a sand spider for sale as well ??

not sure why, but that add. doesnt come up when searching on the bay?  STill looks like a clean old girl, to my one functioning eye , at any rate!

CHECK OUT HIS NEW CR480 '82 AS WELL, i never thought i'd say it about that model 480 but it IS beautiful!  I only ever rode one of that model and it was TERRIBLE!  Shite suspension in the rear but it absolutly ANIALATED my 430 power-wise, always wondered what was like with a good shock in it!

thanx everyone Im now spoilt for choice  unbelieveable from zero to 100 in 2.5 seconds, there are 2 bikes that stand out at the moment 1 is Guy490 wich Paul has looked at (thanx mate) and another up Qld way, so eeny meeny mighty Mo mut do lots of shutdown work as we go
