I love the old Zooks; surely there's a spot in Docs bedroom?

Ah, but those are $21000 KIWI dollars...what's the rule of thumb for exchange to the OZ dollar? Is it drop the last zero and divide by two...?

They "Reckon" that YZ360A's are worth 18K, (I dont know of any that have actually sold for that)  I think that there is a LOT less RH250's made than YZ360A's and  I know what I would rather own....

The RH74 is far more desirable than the more "common" RH75 and even though the seller is asking seriously top dollar, this bike will appreciate in value. It may take a while but the scarcity and race history of these bikes makes them one of the better investments. If I was cashed up I wouldn't hesitate.

I've come to a point in my life where my philosophy is 'if the bike can't be ridden then it's pointless having it' No offence to be taken and no disrespect to anyone but I feel Barry had some grand plans in NZ too, life is very unpredictable and this sale is the result of that uncertainty. As much as I like to look at restored and rare bikes they don't interest me enough that I'd wish to tie that sort of money up in something I can only look at ;) In this age or technology there is no reason why a TM250 could not be made to perform as good or better than an RH if obscene amounts of money are thrown at it. I'd doubt it would come to $16000 but it would be a decent figure regardless. If I had the money this is the way I'd go. Obviously I am not a collector nor an investor but simply an enthusiast  ;)

shhhhh..tis all bullshit, just trying to talk myself out of showing the slightest interest in that RH  :P and, it's not working  ::)

I forgot to add that while your RH is appreciating in value you can and should race it. Dave Tanner races his and Barry wasn't backwards at giving his a good old thrashing. I had the pleasure of knowing Barry and he had the philosophy that not only did the public deserve to see such pieces of history, they deserved to see them as they were intended, being raced.
I love to see these rare bikes in action but we also have to realise that parts for some of this exotica are almost impossible to find any more. I think that's why Dave rarely brings the RN out these days. While my far from rare DT1 Yamaha has never been started and could be considered a garage queen, my Ducati and upcoming Cheney Yamaha, while not really being in the RH/RN financial class but still very rare, are most definitely going to be raced. The engine in Jonsey's Black Betty is as rare as chicken lips but most of us know just what a hard life she gets on the track. Alan is also building a Monark GP 500 works bike from the same stable as the Sten Lundin Lito that's featured in the next issue of VMX that'll owe him in excess of 30k and he fully intends to race it. His philosophy is the same as that of Dave and Barrys. Let the public see, hear, touch and watch them perform as they were originally intended.

A slight detour from the above rant....I always thought that the tank graphics on Barrys bike as shown for sale are actually the RH72 design. Dave Tanners RH74 has similar graphics to the '74 TM. Can any of you Suzuki experts fill me in on what is correct? What model RH was Joel riding at CD5? Dave, are you there?

Firko that was a '74 RH that Joel was riding and the original graphics were the same as the '74 TM. It had been painted to look like his '72 works bike i guess. The '75 RH had the same graphics as the '76 RM's. I painted Daves RH and RN a few years ago and i also own a '74 and '75 RH250.
